Roll Call <br /> <br />Present: Commissioners Thorsen, Hoeschen, <br />Staff Grossman <br />Absent: Simacek, Goderstand, Malm. <br /> <br />Stoneberg, Smith; <br /> <br />2. ~inutes of the Meeting of Februer~ 27, ~99~. <br /> <br /> Mr. Smith moved and Mr. Stoneberg seconded approval. Motion <br />carried, 4-0. <br /> <br />Tom Lewanski; presentation on historic natural areas. <br /> <br /> Mr. Thorsen moved and Mr. Smith seconded a motion supporting <br />the concept of designating and protecting historic natural areas; <br />asking Mr. Lewanski to provide costs and resources for a survey; <br />and meeting with the Natural Resources and Recreation Commission to <br />see if they are interested in a joint venture. Motion carried, 4-0. <br /> <br /> Mr. Smith, Mr. Thorsen and Mr. Hoeschen volunteered to meet <br />with the NRRC. Mr. Grossman will make arrangements. <br /> <br />4. Levee Park - discussion of designation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Grossman reviewed the procedure and requirements for <br />designation. At a date to be determined at the next meeting, Mr. <br />Stoneberg, Mr. Malm and Mr. Simacek will meet on the subject with <br />the NRRC first, and then with neighboring property owners.. <br /> <br />5. Old Courthouse - update. <br /> <br /> Mr. Grossman reported that Lindberg-Pierce, the architectural <br />firm to be hired by the city, will have an experienced historic <br />architect consultant to ensure that the National Register <br />guidelines for rehabilitation are observed in the City's <br />rennovation project of the old courthouse. One of the two firms <br />which have experience, Miller-Dunwoodie or McDonald-Mack, will <br />probably be selected. The HPC will review the plans and give final <br />approval. <br /> <br />6. Reservations for CLG Conference, April 20, 1991. <br /> <br /> TO maintain the City's certification, one or more members of <br />the HPC must attend the annual training. Mr. Smith, and Mr. <br />Stoneberg are able to attend; Mr. Hoeschen will call back. Mr. <br />Grossman will try to check with the absent members before sending <br />in the reservations. Part of the meeting on Friday afternoon on <br />grants will be attended by Mr. Smith. <br /> <br /> <br />
