Hastings, Minnesota <br />August 18, 2003 <br /> <br /> The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting <br />on Monday August 184, 2003 at 5:30 PM, in the Volunteer Room at the Hastings City <br />Hall, 101 East 4th, Street, Hastings, Minnesota.. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Mayor Mike Werner, City Councilmembers Hazlet, Hicks, <br />Riveness, Moratzka, Schultz, and Yandrasits <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Staff Members Present: <br /> <br />City Administrator David Osberg <br />Administrative Assistant/City Clerk Melanie Mesko Lee; <br />City Attomey Shawn Moynihan; <br />Planning Director John Hinzman; <br />Public Works Director Tom Montgomery <br />HRA Director John Grossman <br />Parks & Recreation Director Marty McNamara <br />Aquatic Center Manager Darbie Johnson <br />Fire Chief Mark Holmes <br />Assistant Fire Chief Mike Schutt <br />Building Official Bill Mesaros <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> Mayor Werner asked if there were any corrections or additions to the minutes <br />of the regular meeting of August 4, 2003. Hearing none, the minutes were approved <br />as presented. <br /> <br />Presentation--Award of Recycling Check from Waste Management to MOMS <br />Club <br /> Parks & Recreation Director McNamara and Randy Triplett from Waste <br />Management presented a check to the MOMS club in the amount of $551.40 for their <br />work on recycling efforts during the period of May-July, 2003. The Brownies will be <br />the next group in the program. <br /> <br />Presentation--Citizen Recognition: Award of Merit <br /> Police Chief McMenomy stated that four young individuals reported incidents <br />of indecent exposure on two separate occasions. Due to their reports, two <br />individuals were apprehended and charged. On June 19, 2003, Anna Gmiterko, <br />Chelsey Greiner, and Abram Henry reported an incident and on July 12, 2003 Kayla <br />Herman reported a similar incident to Hastings Police. Police Chief McMenomy and <br />the City Council commended these individuals on their willingness to come forward <br />immediately with this information and each were presented with a plaque. <br /> <br /> <br />
