VI-tO

MEMO

To:
From:
Date:
Re:

Honorable Mayor and City Council
Tom Montgomery
September 26, 2007
Resolution - Declare Public Works Maintenance Department Vehicles Excess

Council is requested to declare the two Public Works Maintenance Department
vehicles listed below excess and authorize sale. In the past, Public Works has had great
success selling vehicles online through CarSoup.Com and plan to do so with these to
vehicles; a 1993 Dodge Van that was originally an Engineering Department survey
vehicle and then used by the Utilities Department to service water meters, and a 1982
GMC 4-door pickup truck that was originally a Parks Department vehicle and was then
used as a crew vehicle for part time Public Works summer help. The van was recently
replaced by a new meter pickup truck and box due to age, mileage and rapidly increasing
repair costs. The 1982 pickup truck has sat in storage for the past two years with
transmission problems and other maintenance issues which would cost more than the
vehicle is worth.

EXCESS VEHICLES
. 1982 GMC 35004 Door Pick-upx. 1993 Dodge 1500 Van
