City of Hastings March 5, 2007 <br />City Council Minutes Page 2 of 4 <br />Award of Contract -Public Dock Permit <br />City Administrator Dave Osberg recommended removal of item from agenda. <br />Public Hearing -Vacation of Easement #2007-08 -County Crossroads <br />Mayor Hicks opened the public hearing at 7:07 pm <br />Planning Director Hinzman presented a report and staff recommends approval <br />of the Vacation of Easement #2007-08 -County Crossroads. <br />Hearing no further comments, Mayor Hicks closed the public hearing at 7:09 <br />pm. <br />Resolution- Vacation of Easement #2007-08: County Crossroads 3rd Addition <br />Moved by Councilmember Alongi, seconded by Councilmember Schultz to <br />approve the resolution as presented. <br />6 Ayes, Nays, None. <br />Copy of resolution on file. <br />Resolution-Final Ptat #2007-09: Crossroads Center East <br />Mayor Hicks and Councilmember Alongi expressed concerns with noise levels. <br />Planning Director Hinzman stated there is a 60 decimal maximum noise level <br />mechanism in place. Councilmember Schultz was concerned with the parking issue as <br />development continued. <br />Moved by Councilmember Alongi, seconded by Councilmember Schultz to <br />approve the resolution as presented. <br />6 Ayes, Nays, None. <br />Copy of resolution on file. <br />Resolution~pecial Use Permit #2007-05: Hastings Middle School (T-Mobile) <br />Planning Director Hinzman gave a report and introduced Paul Harrington of <br />T-Mobile who also gave a presentation. <br />Councilmember Schultz asked about safeguards with the location so near a <br />school. Planning Director Hinzman stated an 8 foot fence with locks will be in place <br />around the tower and the first pegs for climbing will be 12 feet from the ground. <br />Councilmember Alongi questioned the distance of the roof of the school to the <br />tower, and the temptation of a teenagerjumping. Planning Director Hinzman said <br />school officials will be made aware of concerns. <br />Councilmember Riveness asked if this is the first tower to be erected in close <br />proximity to a school or church. Paul Harrington of T-Mobile said no and there have <br />been no problems that he was aware of in the past. <br />Councilmember Slavik asked that neighbors receive a clarification notice to <br />avoid apprehension. <br />Moved by Councilmember Slavik, seconded by Councilmember Rivensss to <br />approve the resolution as presented. <br />6 Ayes, Nays, None. <br />Copy of resolution on file. <br />Approve Roof Sign #2007-12-507 Vermillion Street {Johnson Schofield\GGG) <br />Moved by Councilmember Slavik, seconded by Councilmember Alongi to <br />approve as presented. <br />6 Ayes, Nays, None. <br />
