<br />r <br /> <br />Hastings, Minnesota <br />June 22, 1999 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a special meeting on Tuesday, <br />June 22, 1999 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 101 4th Street East, Hastings, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Yandrasits, Riveness, Simacek, Johnson, Hicks, <br />Moratzka & Mayor Werner <br /> <br />Staff Members Present: <br /> <br />Dave Osberg, City Administrator; <br />Tom Montgomery, Public Works Director; <br />John Grossman, HRA Director; <br />Matt Weiland, City Planner; <br />Melanie Mesko, Administrative Assistant/City Clerk <br /> <br />(' <br /> <br />The City Planner presented preliminary information regarding growth patterns anticipated <br />by the Met Council for the City of Hastings. There was significant discussion about the desire and <br />the ability to grow outside current boundaries and discussion that, if growth should occur, where <br />should that be. <br />Council was in agreement to plan for future commercial growth along the Highway 55 <br />corridor on the western edge of the City. <br />City Planner Weiland indicated that there currently is and there will continue to be a lot of <br />pressure from developers to locate in Hastings. The City will receive requests to annex certain land <br />into the City from the surrounding townships in order to provide adequate City services for these <br />potential new developments. <br />Council directed Staff to prepare another map outlining the scale down expansion plan the <br />Council discussed during the meeting. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Simacek, seconded by Councilmember Johnson, to adjourn the <br />special City Council meeting at 8:38 p.m. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, None. <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />ATTES~ <br />City Clerk <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />r <br />
