<br /> <br />Council Minutes for Meetin of June 01 1998 <br /> <br />Pa e 2 of 4 <br /> <br />Public Hearing: Rezone R-4 to 0- Valley Manor Addition, Lots 1 & 6, Block 6 <br />Mayor Werner opened the Public Hearing at 7:05 p.m. to receive comments on the Final <br />Reading for Rezoning ofR-4 Medium Density Residential to 0-1 General Office for Lot 1 and Lot 6, <br />Block 1, Valley Manor 2nd Addition. <br />Mayor Werner asked if there were any comments on the issue and hearing none, closed the <br />public hearing at 7 :06 p.m. <br /> <br />Ordinance No. 430 Second/Final Reading-Rezone R-4 to 0 Valley Manor 2nd Addition <br />Moved by Councilmember Yandrasits, seconded by Councilmember Riveness, to approve <br />Ordinance No. 430 an Ordinance Amending the Official Zoning Map by rezoning the Lot 1 and Lot 6, <br />Block 1, Valley Manor 2nd Addition, from R-4 Medium Residential to 0-1 General Office. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, None. <br /> <br />Presentation: Hastings Middle School Donated $1,500 to the Outdoor Pool <br />Director of Parks & Recreation Marty McNamara presented a check for $1,500 for the Roadside <br />Park Pool on behalf of Joan Warner and the Middle School Students who raised the donation. <br />Mayor Werner thanked Ms. Warner, the Middle School Students, the Pool Committee, the Parks <br />and Recreation Committee, and the City Council for their efforts. <br /> <br />Public Hearing: Request to Vacate Part of Barker Street <br />Mayor Werner opened the Public Hearing at 7:07 p.m. to receive comments on the proposed <br />request to vacate part of Barker Street. Mayor Werner asked if there were any public comment on the <br />issue, and hearing none, closed the public hearing at 7 :08 p.m. <br /> <br />Resolution No. 6-3-98 Request to Vacate Part of Barker Street <br />Moved by Councilmember Johnson, seconded by Councilmember Yandrasits, to approve <br />Resolution No. 6-3-98, vacating the Barker Street right-of-way north of 3rd Street East between Lot 1, <br />Block 3 and Lot 4, Block 4, Barkers Addition. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, None. Copy of resolution on file. <br /> <br />Request to Survey and Research Titles, 11 th Street Right-of-Way between Sibley & Tyler Streets <br />Moved by Councilmember Simacek, seconded by Councilmember Hicks, to authorize Staff to <br />contract with the land surveyor and title company to research and delineate an 11 th Street right-of-way. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, None. <br /> <br />Request for Reduced Water Charges, Arcon Construction, CR #42 Project <br />Moved by Councilmember Johnson, seconded by Councilmember Riveness, to approve a <br />reduction in the water billing rate from .01 per gallon to the City's water utility rate of$1.30 per 1,000 <br />gallons (.0013 per gallon) for Arcon Construction, the Contractor for the CR #42 Project. <br />Councilmember Hicks clarified the $1,235 amount is a straight commodity charge for Arcon <br />Construction. <br />6 Ayes; Nays, 1 (Yandrasits). <br />
