<br />Hastings, Minnesota <br />September 21, 1998 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, <br />September 21, 1998 at 7 :00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 101 4th St. East, Hastings, <br />Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Councilmember Yandrasits, Riveness, Johnson, Simacek, Hicks, <br />Moratzka and Mayor Werner <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Staff Members Present: <br /> <br />Dave Osberg, City Administrator; <br />Mark Holmes, Assistant Fire Chief; <br />Nick Wasylik, Police Chief; <br />Tom Montgomery, Public Works Director; <br />Matt Weiland, Zoning Administrator; <br />Steven Scharfe, Sergeant; <br />Mark Belisle, Officer; <br />Joyce P. Hottinger, Administrative Assistant/City Clerk; <br />and Shawn Moynihan, City Attorney <br /> <br />Citizens Award Presentations <br />Chief of Police Nick Wasylik presented a Citizens Award to Tarra Maher for her service in <br />calling in 911 when observing a domestic situation. Assistant Mark Holmes presented a Citizens <br />Award to Michael Mimbach and Jade Zavatkay for heroic actions in saving a life. <br /> <br />Chief of Police Nick Wasylik presented the Hastings Police Departmental Metal of Valor to <br />Officer Mark Belisle and Sergeant Steven Scharfe for their service in responding to a fire call. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br />Mayor Werner asked whether there were any corrections or additions to the regular meeting <br />of September 8, 1998 and hearing none, approved the minutes as presented. <br /> <br />Council Items to Be Considered <br />Moved by Councilmember Riveness, seconded by Councilmember Simacek, <br />discussion of MPRS Lawsuit as a closed door session item to the City Council agenda. <br />6 Ayes; Nays, None. <br /> <br />to add <br /> <br />Mayor Werner stepped out of the Council meeting at 7:03 p.m. Councilmember Hicks <br />presided as Acting Mayor. Mayor Werner returned to the regular meeting at 7:10 p.m. <br />
