<br />CITY OF HASTINGS <br />AGREEMENT FOR SNOW REMOVAL <br />2004-2005 <br /> <br />This Agreement and fee schedule specify the work to be completed by Ross Albertson, 1332 <br />Featherstone Road, Hastings, Minnesota, and the payments for the work to be made by the City of <br />Hastings. The terms of this Agreement shall begin on November 15, 2004 and continue until May 1, <br />2005. <br /> <br />1.) Mr. Albertson shall be considered an independent contractor and shall provide evidence of <br />comprehensive, liability and collision motor vehicle insurance, on all vehicles that wi II he Llsed <br />for snow removal operations, in amounts no less than that which is required by Law. The City of <br />Hastings and the City Housing and Redevelopment Authority shall be named as additional <br />insureds on the policy. The insurance, must include, at a minimum, public liability, personal <br />injury liability and motor vehicle insurance, all in the amounts of at least $1,000,000 per <br />occurrence, and per year. This shall include an endorsement identifying the City of Hastings and <br />the City Housing and Redevelopment Authority as an additional insured. Additionally, Mr. <br />Albertson will be required to provide an agreement, holding harmless and agreeing to indemnify <br />the City of Hastings and the City Housing and Redevelopment Authority, for damages that either <br />may suffer, due to the negligence ofMr. Albertson. <br /> <br />2.) Contractor shall plow all snow, including sanding, de-icing and salt, from all sidewalks, steps and <br />parking lots described on the attachment, and identified on the attached map. This does include <br />the sidewalk on the north side of the Public Square, adjacent to the street, west of the main <br />sidewalk (which runs north/south leading to the City Hall.) <br /> <br />3.) Any snowfall of2" or more must be plowed from sidewalks and steps within 12 hours, and from <br />parking lots within 24 hours. Iced areas on sidewalks and steps must be cleared and sanded as <br />soon as possible, and in all cases within 12 hours. <br /> <br />4.) Contractor shall provide all equipment and supplies, except for de-icer for concrete and calcium <br />chloride for all other areas, which is available at the Street Department. Contractor shall be <br />responsible for pick up at the Street Department. <br /> <br />5.) IfMr. Albertson is disabled, or otherwise unable to perform these services, the agreement will be <br />canceled, and the retainer shall be pro-rated accordingly for the month in which services are <br />unable to be performed. <br /> <br />.. <br />
