Hastings Rivertown News City of Hastings 101 Fourth Street East (651) 480-2350 www.ci.hastings.mn.us Tell Us What You Think- 2003 Ward Meetings Scheduled Members of the Hastings City Council and City Staff are again seeking citizen input, as the Second Annual Neighborhood Meetings have again been scheduled. The meetings are designed to provide neighbors with an opportunity to gather in an informal setting, hear updates on certain City issues, and voice their opinions and concerns. This year's Neighborhood Meetings will be especially important as City Officials are anxious to hear comments and suggestions from the public during these trying times for municipal budgets. The process for adopting the 2004 Budget will begin this summer and will likeiy include significant changes from previous years, due to the pending reductions in state aids to the City of Hastings. City Councilmembers and City Staff will be present at each meeting to address the concerns and questions presented by the public. The meeting schedule is listed below, with the locations of the meetings corresponding with the polling places in each particular ward. Citizens are encouraged to attend the meeting in your particular ward. While the brief presentations by City Officials will commence at 6:30 p.m., at each of the four locations, efforts will be made to address all concerns and questions to assure adjournment by about 8:00 p.m. If you should have any questions regarding the Neighborhood Meetings, please feel free to contact City Administrator Dave Osberg at 480-2350. ':Pi:~~ GRAND ExCURSION 2004'" Volunteers Needed for the Grand Excursion 2004 The City of Hastings and the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism are jointly working together to promote the Grand Excursion 2004 Celebration, a regional initiative to shape the future of the Upper Mississippi River. More than 40 communities and dozens of regional and local organizations as well as hundreds of supporters from the upper Mississippi River in the fields of art, culture, education, housing, economic development, heritage preservation, recreation, beautification, and environmental stewardship have committed to complete projects valued at hundreds of millions of dollars in improvements to the metro area by 2004.
