<br />557 <br /> <br />Hastings, Minnesota <br />August 17, 1970 <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a <br />regular meeting on Monday, August 17, 1970 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Hall. <br /> <br />r-I <br /> <br />Members present: Councilmen Soleim, Novak, Kane, Hallberg, <br />Christenson, Driscoll, Fischer, Mayer and <br />Mayor Rotty. <br /> <br />Members absent: <br /> <br />None. <br /> <br />Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Councilman Driscoll introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID - WELL PUMP AND PUMPHOUSE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construc- <br />tion of a well pumphouse, and furnishing and installation of a natural gas <br />engine, pump drive, and deep well turbine pump for the City of Hastings, <br />bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the follow- <br />ing bids were received complying with the advertisement: <br /> <br />Base bid plus alternate for acoustical tile <br /> <br />r-, <br />I <br /> <br />Richert Plumbing and Heating <br />Berglund-Johnson <br />Erection and Maintenance <br />Karl Dedolph Construction <br />Graus Construction <br />L. Shank Plumbing and Heating <br />Dupre Construction No <br /> <br />$75,416 <br />76,596 <br />78,615 <br />79,695 <br />80,169 <br />88,402 <br />Alternate Bid <br /> <br />AND WHEREAS, it appears that Ri~~~r~ Plumbing and Heating of <br />Stillwater, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder, <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HASTINGS: <br /> <br />1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to <br />enter into a contract with Richert Plumbing and Heating Co. <br />for the improvements as stated above according to the plans <br />and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and <br />on file in the office of the City Clerk. <br /> <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return <br />forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids <br />except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has <br />been signed. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council this 17th day of August, 1970. <br /> <br /> <br />Wdct:<4- <br /> <br />~)1a'" <br />pM,yor 1 <br /> <br />to adopt said resolution <br />Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br /> <br />fI <br /> <br />Councilman Soleim seconded the motion <br />and the same was passed by the following vote: <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Fischer seconded by Councilman Novak that <br />an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS MAKING ILLEGAL v <br />THE ISSUANCE OF WORTHLESS CHECKS, AND IMPOSING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION <br />THEREOF" pass its third reading to finally read as follows: Ayes, all; <br />Nays, none. <br />The City Council of the City of Hastings does ordain: <br /> <br />Subdivision 1. Definition. "Credit" means an arrangement or <br />understanding with the drawee for the payment of the check or other order <br />for the payment of money to which this ordinance applies. <br />
