557 Hastings, Minnesota August 17, 1970 The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, August 17, 1970 at 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. r-I Members present: Councilmen Soleim, Novak, Kane, Hallberg, Christenson, Driscoll, Fischer, Mayer and Mayor Rotty. Members absent: None. Minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Councilman Driscoll introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID - WELL PUMP AND PUMPHOUSE WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the construc- tion of a well pumphouse, and furnishing and installation of a natural gas engine, pump drive, and deep well turbine pump for the City of Hastings, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law, and the follow- ing bids were received complying with the advertisement: Base bid plus alternate for acoustical tile r-, I Richert Plumbing and Heating Berglund-Johnson Erection and Maintenance Karl Dedolph Construction Graus Construction L. A. Shank Plumbing and Heating Dupre Construction No $75,416 76,596 78,615 79,695 80,169 88,402 Alternate Bid AND WHEREAS, it appears that Ri~~~r~ Plumbing and Heating of Stillwater, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder, NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF HASTINGS: 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Richert Plumbing and Heating Co. for the improvements as stated above according to the plans and specifications therefore approved by the City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. Wdct:<4- ~)1a'" pM,yor 1 to adopt said resolution Ayes, all; Nays, none. fI Councilman Soleim seconded the motion and the same was passed by the following vote: Moved by Councilman Fischer seconded by Councilman Novak that an ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS MAKING ILLEGAL v THE ISSUANCE OF WORTHLESS CHECKS, AND IMPOSING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF" pass its third reading to finally read as follows: Ayes, all; Nays, none. The City Council of the City of Hastings does ordain: Subdivision 1. Definition. "Credit" means an arrangement or understanding with the drawee for the payment of the check or other order for the payment of money to which this ordinance applies.
