Every community within Dakota County participate in the single <br />joint dispatch fadlity and that all public safety agencies migrate <br />their two-way radio communications to the 800 MHz radio <br />backbone. <br /> <br />5. A single set of appropriate central electronics dispatch center <br />infrastructure be acquired and built to service the needs of the <br />County and the individual jurisdictions through the joint dispatch <br />center. <br /> <br />Benefits <br /> <br />Benefits of implementing these recommendations include: <br /> <br />1. Significant avoided capital cost for every community operating a <br />PSAP today. <br /> <br />2. Significant recurring operating cost savings realized Countywide by <br />leveraging and aggregating dispatch center staff to serve the entire <br />user community across the county. <br /> <br />3. Enhanced commu nications interoperability. <br /> <br />4. Improved command, control, and deployment coordination of public <br />safety personnel equipment and staff during both routine and cri sis <br />situations. The joint dispatch model provides a template which can <br />be applied to other public safety, shared service initiatives within <br />the County. <br /> <br />S. Service levels which are equal to or better than that possible today. <br /> <br />6. Greater process discipline through a shared governance and <br />operational structure. <br /> <br />7. The opportunity to collect meaningful performance metrics leading <br />to best-in-class management of the service delivery process. <br /> <br />8. Increased opportunities for continued professional development and <br />advancement of specialized dispatch center staff serving a <br />countywide community base. <br /> <br />9.
