Motion failed for lack of a second. <br /> <br />-.'~ . ~ <br /> <br />The foregoing third reading of an Ordinance adopting the <br />New Home Rule Charter of the City of Hastings, upon being put to a <br />vote, receive the following vote, constituting a unanimous vote in <br />favor thereof: Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br /> <br />r <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Kane to <br />pass the third reading to amend Section 9 of "AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING <br />THE COLLECTION AND IDSPOSAL OF GARBAGE AND RUBBISH WITHIN THE CITY OF <br />HASTINGS" to finally read as follcrws: Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br /> <br />The City Council of the City of Hastings does ordain: <br /> <br />Section 9: Fees to be set by resolution. <br /> <br />Councilman Kane introduced the following resolution and <br />moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FEES FOR COLLECTION OF <br />GARBAGE WITHIN THE CITY OF HASTINGS <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City <br />of Hastings, Minnesota: <br /> <br />That a fee of three dollars and seventy-five cents ($3.75) <br />be set for the collection and disposal of garbage for residential <br />pickup by a private concern in the City of Hastings, effective as <br />of January 1, 1973. <br /> <br />Adopted by the City Council this 8th day of January, 1973. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />....... <br /> <br />ATTEST:~tf"'~ <br />1 lerk <br /> <br />~~ <br />....... yor <br /> <br />Councilman O'Connor moved, Councilman Wilson seconded the <br />motion to hold over the resolution setting the rates until the meeting <br />of January 15, 1973. Ayes, Councilmen Wilson, and O'Connor. Nays, <br />Councilmen Novak, Kane, Collins, Hallberg, Driscoll, and Christenson. <br />Motion defeated. <br /> <br />Councilman Driscoll seconded the motion to adopt said resolution <br />and the same was passed by the following vote: Ayes, all; Nays, none. <br /> <br />The next item for consideration was the proposed revision of <br />subparagraph F of Paragraph V of the Subdivision Ordinance of the City <br />of Hastings originally adopted by the City Council December 16, 1968. <br />Also to be considered with the foregoing amendment to the land sub- <br />division ordinance was a proposed Sidewalk Ordinance for the City of <br />Hastings. The clerk reported that the proposed amendment to sub- <br />paragraph F of Paragraph V of the Subdivision Ordinance and the pro- <br />posed Sidewalk Ordinance had previously received two favorable read- <br />ings and votes by the City Council and that the matter was now before <br />the City Council for a third reading and adoption. <br /> <br />[ <br /> <br />Councilman Novak moved and Councilman Driscoll seconded <br />the motion to pass the third reading of the proposed amendment of Sub- <br />paragraph F. of Paragraph V of the Subdivision Ordinance and to pass <br />a third reading of the proposed Sidewalk Ordinance, thereby placing <br />sh~dcamendment and said ordinance into effect, subject to publication. <br /> <br />The proposed amendment is in words as follows: <br /> <br />F. SIDEWALKS AND DRIVEWAYS <br /> <br />Grading of boulevards iniall new developments shall be accom- <br />plished so as to accomodate construction of sidewalks thereon regard- <br />less of whether said boulevard is part of the Main ~edestrian Route <br />Plan of the City. Any "Pedestrian Ways" located in the Plat, as said <br />term is defined in the City Sidewalk Ordinance, shall be designated <br />as such on the Plat and dedicated to the public. Any sidewalks con- <br />structed in any subdivision shall be in accordance with specifications <br />
