The cost of said sidewalk shall <br /> <br />be borne by said developer. <br /> <br />8. Sidewalks on Non-Main Pedestrian Routes <br /> <br />Nothing herein contained shall limit the right of property owners <br />to petition for construction of sidewalks pursuant to procedures <br />established by Minnesota Statutes, with the cost thereof assessed <br />against adjacent property owners in accordance with said statute. <br />The cost of replacement of sidewalks not on main pedestrian <br />routes shall be ,borne one-half by the City and one-half by the adjacent <br /> <br />property owner. <br />9. Obligation of Adjacent Property Owners Regarding Sidewalks <br />(a) The owners and occupants of any premises in the City <br />are hereby required to keep all sidewalks along or in front of their <br /> <br />premises free from all abstructions and they are f~rther required to. <br /> <br />remove all snow, ice, dirt, rubbish or obstructions from the side- <br /> <br />walk along or in front of their premises. <br /> <br />(b) No person shall shut off or. obstruct ?ny sidewalk in <br />the City of Hastings without obtaining a special p~rmit to do so. <br />Such permit shall be issued by the City Clerk. <br /> <br />(c) An owner, occupant, contractor or other person who, <br /> <br />without first having obtained a permit, places or allows obstructions, <br />snow, dirt, ice, or rubbish to remain on the sidewalk or sidewalks <br />along or in front of his property, or property on. which he is working, <br />is guilty of a petty misdemeanor. Further, any person who places <br /> <br />obstructions, snow, ice, dirt or rubbish on any sidewalk in the <br />City, without first having obtained a permit, is guilty of a <br /> <br />petty misdemeanor. <br /> <br />Said persons may be subjected to punishment <br />., <br /> <br />prov~ded for petty misdemeanors by State law. Further, the City <br /> <br />may remove said snow, ice, dirt, rubbish or obstructions and assess <br /> <br />the cost of said removal against any person wrongfully placing or <br />allowing it to remain on said sidewalk, may collect said cost by <br /> <br />- <br /> <br /> <br />- 3 - <br />
