<br />1327 <br /> <br />Hastings, Minnesota <br />October 3, 1973 <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a Special Meeting of the <br />City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota was held at the City Hall <br />on the 3rd day of October, 1973 at 7:30 o'clock P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Councilman Collins, Schnirring <br />Kramer, Hallberg, O'Connor, Fischer, Novak and Mayor Petersen. The following <br />members were absent: Councilman Driscoll. <br /> <br />\ <br /> <br />The Clerk presented affidavits of posting and publication of notice <br />of Special Election held in accordance with the Resolution adopted on <br />August 17, 1973, authorizing said election to vote on the question of <br />borrowing money and issuing General Obligation Bonds in an amount not to <br />exceed $560,000 for the purpose of financing a Civic Ice Arena for the City <br />and also presented the official returns of the Judges of Election. Said <br />affidavits and returns were duly examined, approved and ordered placed on <br />file in the Office of the Clerk. <br /> <br />. Councilman Novak introduced the followiBg resolution and moved its <br />adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS <br />OF ELECTION <br /> <br />I- <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Hastings, Minn. <br />of Dakota County, Minnesota, that it is hereby found, determined, and de- <br />clared that the Special Election held in and for said City on October 2, 1973 <br />was in all respects duly and legally called and held and the returns thereof <br />have been duly canvassed, and the votes cast at said election for and against <br />the following question were as follows: <br /> <br />Shall the City of Hastings, Minnesota, through its <br />City Council, be authorized to borrow money by issuing <br />general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed <br />$560,000 in order to acquire, equip and maintain land <br />buildings and other recreational facilities for a <br />skating rink and arena and other kinds of athletic <br />activities together with related automobile parking <br />facilities? <br /> <br />Votes YES 1,428 <br />Votes NO 1,124 <br />Total votes 2,552 <br /> <br />and said proposition having received the approval of a majority of the votes <br />cast hereon is hereby declared to have carried. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly <br />seconded by Councilman O'Connor and upon a vote being taken thereon, the <br />following voted in favor thereof: Ayes, all; Nayes, none. <br /> <br />W,Al ~~../. <br />City Cler r <br /> <br /> <br />passed and adopted. <br /> <br />Whereupon said resolution was <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hallberg, s <br />the meeting be adjourned.
