Ayes, all; <br />Nayes, none. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman Schnirring <br />to authorize a change order to the 1974 Construction Contract to provide <br />for the installation of Sanitary Sewer and Water service to the following <br />properties. Ayes, all; Nayes, none. <br /> <br />Lot 1, Block 58, Town of Hastings <br />Lots 1 and 2, Block 3, Young's Addition <br />Lot 25, Auditor's Sub. #11 <br />Lot 2, Block 41, Addition #13 <br /> <br />The Engineer next reported on the situation as it relates to <br />water connection for porperties along 6th Street where present construc- <br />tion is taking place. He reported that a substantial number of the water <br />connections were in a deteriorated condition. Further that many of them <br />will be requiring replacement in the next several years. He further <br />stated that it would be economically advisable at this time to replace the <br />connections so that it will not be necessary to dig up the street when <br />they do become inoperable. A general discussion occurred, the substance <br />of which was that it would be appropriate for the city to, by change order <br />to the contract, put in new connections for the persons requesting same <br />with the replacements paid for from the funds available from bonding and <br />the same reimbursed to the city along with the other special assessments <br />costs, each property owner requesting the replacement to be assessed for <br />the costs thereof which will be paid off over the next ten year with in- <br />terest as with other assessments. Upon being put to a vote the following <br />vote was recorded. Motx9n made by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by <br />Councilman Novak. Ayes, Councilmen Collins, Hallberg, O'Connor, Fischer, <br />Driscoll and Novak; Nayes, Councilmen Schnirring and Kramer. <br /> <br />It was next reported that Auditor Subdivision #10 in the City, <br />consisting of Lots adjacent to Eddy Street and 16th Street and a pmrtion <br />of Spring Street apparently contains survey errors. The Engineer stated <br />that it would be very beneficial to the city as well as to the property <br />owners that a new survey of the property encompassed in Auditor Subdivision <br />#10 be accomplished. Whereupon a motion was made by Councilman O'Connor, <br />seconded by Councilman Hallberg as follows: that the City request that <br />the County Surveyor re-survey the properties encompassed in Auditor Sub- <br />division #10 in the City. The following vote was recorded: Ayes, all; <br />Nayes, none. <br /> <br />Councilman Driscoll was excused at this time. <br /> <br />It was next reported that a petition had been received from <br />Mr. Raymond L. Nowicki requesting the annexation to the city of properties <br />in the West half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 4 and the East half of <br />the Northwest Quarter of Section 4 all in Township 114, Range 17. Moved by <br />Councilman O'Connor, seconded by Councilman Hallberg to refer this matter to <br />the Planning Commission.
