OF ELECTIONS <br /> <br />APPROVE COUNTY <br />ABATEMENTS <br /> <br />Councilman Hallberg moved, Councilman Novak seconded <br />the motion to adopt the procedures as presented by Dexter Marston <br />concerning the proper handling and processing of various requests <br />that come before his office and while the procedures are being <br />approved in this motion the fees as stated in his proposal are not <br />being adopted now but will be voted upon at a later date. The <br />vote was Ayes, 6; Nayes, O. <br /> <br />The Council accepted the letter from ICMA and ordered <br />the letter put on file. <br /> <br />Councilman Schnirring moved, Councilman Driscoll <br />seconded to approve the list of Election Judges for the September <br />10th Primary election if the City of Hastings has one and for the <br />General Election of November~th, 1974 as presented before the <br />Council meeting tonight. It is also noted that the voting <br />Precincts are as follows: <br /> <br />'I <br />I I <br /> <br />First Ward - Hastings Junior High School <br />Second Ward - Tilden Elementary School <br />Third Ward - Cooper Elementary School <br />Fourth Ward - Calvary Baptist Church <br /> <br />and be it further resolved that the salary for the election judges <br />be at the rate of $2.00 per hour. Ayes, 6; Nayes, O. <br /> <br />Councilman Novak moved, Councilman O'Connor seconded the <br />motion to authorize the State Auditor of the State of Minnesota <br />to perform the 1973 - 1974 official audit for the City of Hastings. <br />Ayes, 6; Nayes, O. <br /> <br />The report was made by the City Administrator announcing <br />that the Sanitary Landfill for the City of Hastings has been <br />officially closed and the final closing procedures are beingfo11owed <br />and application is also being made to the PCA requesting that a <br />portion of the Dump still be used for demolition material. As it <br />stands at this time the Sanitary Landfill will be open from 2:00 <br />to 4:00 P.M., Tuesdays and Thrusdays to receive onlu demolition <br />type material. <br /> <br />u <br /> <br />The City Administrator presented to the Council a two- <br />part report on Federal Revenue Sharing; due to the fact that this <br />was a rather involved report it was suggested at this time the <br />Council retain the copies of this report but that a more detailed <br />examination be done during the budget work sessions at which time <br />consideration can be given not only to the application of the <br />Revenue Sharing Funds, but to the rest of the financial resources <br />that the City has and is considering in allocations for 1975. <br /> <br />Councilman O'Connor moved, Councilman Driscoll seconded <br />to appoint Mr. Wallace Erickson as the Clerk-Treasurer for the <br />City of Hastings and also as Commissioner of Elections for the <br />City of Hastings. Ayes, 6; Nayes, O. <br /> <br />Councilman Driscoll moved, Councilman Schnirring seconded <br />to approve the County Abatements as listed on the City Administrator <br />report dated June 3, 1974 as being accepted by the City of Hastings. <br />Ayes, 6; Nayes O. They are as follows: <br /> <br />Chicago, Milw. At. Paul & Pac. RR #19-44610-020-00 <br />R.R. property lease was cancelled and therefore should <br />be abated to nil. Reduce from 301 to nil for taxes payable in 1974. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Ronald Moen <br /> <br />#19-81700-050-02 <br /> <br />This property was re-va1uated and found to be valued to <br />high. Reduce from 20240 to 15360 for taxes payable in 1974. <br /> <br />Evelyn Bohlken #10-03300-010-75 <br />The agricultural green acres value on this property was <br />valued too high. Reduce from 7614 to 2387 GA for taxes payable in <br />1974. <br />
