<br />The City Administrator at this time informed the
<br />Council that Mr. Kruger, the Civil Defense Director of the
<br />City of Hastings, had asked that the proposal on Common
<br />Organization with Dakota County be deferred until the next
<br />Council meeting, at which time Mr. Kruger himself hopes to
<br />be present. The Council agreed to have this item put on the
<br />October 7th Agenda.

<br />Councilman Kramer moved, Councilman Novak seconded
<br />to approve the hiring of a secretary to the Engineer at the
<br />rate of $2.50 per hour, Mary Rother. Effective date of em-
<br />ployment will be September 18, 1974. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.

<br />Councilman Schnirring moved, Councilman Kramer
<br />seconded to hold a Public Hearing on October 7, 1974 at
<br />8:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers for the purpose of
<br />the City being allowed to exceed its Levy Limitation by

<br />Councilman Kramer moved, Councilman Novak seconded
<br />that the City Administrator put on the October 7th Council
<br />Agenda a discussion to be concerned with whether or not the
<br />City of Hastings should consider taking over the old County
<br />Courthouse, once the County vacates the premise and occupies
<br />its new facility on Hwy #55. This is to be put on the Agenda
<br />for discussion purposes. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.
