Hastings Planning Commission <br />Minutes of November 10, 1997 <br /> <br />Commissioner Bolesworth opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Present: <br /> <br />Harrington, Flom, Bolesworth, Donndelinger, and Schultz. <br /> <br />Commissioners Absent: <br /> <br />Strauss and Schommer. <br /> <br />Minutes: <br /> <br />Commissioner Bolesworth called for corrections or changes to the September 22, 1997 meeting <br />minutes. There being no changes or corrections the meeting minutes were approved. <br /> <br />Hearing - House Move Proposal - 522 West 5th Street: <br /> <br />Community Development Director presented background information related to a proposal from <br />John and Jill Moes to move an existing home to a vacant parcel situated at 522 West 5th Street. <br />Wozniak further informed the Commissioner that they would be considering this proposal under <br />provisions of City Code Chapter 2, authorizing the Commissioner to act as the ABoard of Design <br />Control@ <br /> <br />Numerous comments were received from residents questioning the appropriateness of the style, <br />color and configuration of the proposed home. <br /> <br />Commissioner Harrington moved and Commissioner Donndelinger made a second to recommend <br />that the City Council approve issuance of moving and building permits to allow the home included <br />in a proposal from John & Jill Moes (dated October 22, 1997) to be moved to 1522 West 5th Street. <br /> <br />Compliance with all applicable City Code requirements including, but not limited to: City <br />Code Chapter 4 (Construction Regulations) and City Code Chapter 18 (Property <br />Maintenance Ordinance). <br />Residing of the House and accessory garage to a low maintenance siding product which is <br />allowable under provisions of Chapter 10 (Zoning Ordinance) of the City Code. <br />That the two existing shade trees situated in the boulevard areas along Maple and 5th <br />Street be retained and that foundation planting valued at least $200.00 be installed. <br />That the project be completed within one year of issuance of the building permit or that <br />the house and accessory garage be removed from the premises and that the site be <br />restored in a manner consistent with requirements of the City Code for restoration of a <br />grading project. <br /> <br />Upon vote taken, Ayes, 5; Nays, 0. <br /> <br />Adjournment: <br /> <br /> <br />
