Hastings Planning Commission <br />Minutes of May 27, 1997 <br /> <br />Commissioner Schommer opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: <br /> <br />Donndelinger, Bolesworth, Schommer, Harrington, Schultz, <br />Strauss and Flom. <br /> <br />Staff Present: Community Development Director Wozniak, City Administrator Osberg & Zoning <br /> Administrator Weiland. <br /> <br />Minutes: <br /> <br />Commissioner Strauss noted that she did not second the motion to approve the Riverwood 7th <br />Addition Preliminary Plat. Commissioner Flom indicated that it was he who made the second of <br />that motion. The minutes were approved as revised. <br /> <br />Public Hearing: 1350 North Frontage Rd - Comp. Plan Amendment/Rezone: <br /> <br />Commissioner Schommer opened the public hearing at 7:07 p.m. <br /> <br />Wozniak presented background information regarding a proposed Comprehensive Plan Land Use <br />reclassification and rezone of the Hastings Housing Coalition site situated at 1350 North Frontage <br />Rd. Pat Handlson of the Hastings Housing Coalition described the development plans for the <br />property. <br /> <br />Commissioner Harrington moved and Commissioner Strauss made a second to recommend <br />approval to City Council of a Comprehensive Plan Land Use reclassification of 1350 Vermillion <br />St. from C (Commercial) to U-II (Urban Residential) and a rezoning of the property from C-1 <br />(General Commerce) to R-3 PRD (Planned Residential Development). <br /> <br />Upon vote taken, Ayes 6; Nays, 1. Motion carried. <br /> <br />Site Plan/Variance - Hastings Civic Arena Expansion: <br /> <br />Wozniak and Osberg presented background information regarding the Hastings Civic Arena <br />Expansion. <br /> <br />Commissioner Bolesworth moved and Commissioner Strauss made a second to recommend <br />approval to the Hastings City Council of the Hastings Civic Arena Expansion site plan subject to <br />the following: <br /> <br />Development of a detailed site grading, parking lot and driveway plan to be approved by <br />the Public Works and Community Development Directors. <br />Development of a detailed landscaping plan subject to approval by the Community <br /> <br /> <br />
