Hastings Planning Commission <br />Minutes of February 22nd, 1999 <br />Regular Meeting <br /> <br />Commissioner Schultz called the meeting to order at 7:01 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Flom, Donndelinger, Harrington, Schultz, Anderson, and Strauss <br />Commissioners Absent: none <br />Staff Present: Acting Community Development Director, Matt Weiland. <br /> <br />2. Minutes: <br /> <br />There being no additions or corrections the minutes of the February 8th, 1999, Regular Planning Commission <br />Meeting were approved. <br /> <br />3. Public Hearing- Comprehensive Plan Amendment (P - Public to U-III Urban Residential) - Parcel D on <br />Title Survey <br /> <br />Acting Community Development Director, Matt Weiland presented background information on this subject.. <br />Public Hearing Opened at 7:09 pm for the Rezoning. <br /> <br />Pastor Pat Handelson was happy to see housing going in as part of the Target project and reiterated the need for <br />more affordable housing in the community. <br /> <br />The Public Hearing was closed at 7:10 pm <br /> <br />Planning Commission Action: <br /> <br />Commissioner Harrington made a motion and Commissioner Flom made a second to not recommend <br />approval of the comprehensive plan amendment at this time and to guide city staff to re-guide the <br />property to a residential land use (U-III) after the final plat has been recorded. <br /> <br />Upon vote taken, Ayes, 6; Nays, 0. Motion Carried <br /> <br />6. Updates and Other Business: <br /> <br />Acting Community Development Director, Matt Weiland informed the Planning Commission about the Joint <br />Comprehensive Planning meeting to be held March 8th, 1999. <br /> <br />Adjournment: <br /> <br />There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:30 pm <br /> <br />Planning Commission Workshop <br /> <br />The planning commission discussed public participation and work done on the comprehensive plan done to date. <br /> <br /> <br />
