<br />Minutes of the Regular Meetine: of Januarv 2. 2001 <br /> <br />Pae:e 2 of3 <br /> <br />Public Hearing-Liquor License Violations <br />Mayor Werner opened the Public Hearing at 7:03 p.m. Mike Anderson of Rivers <br />Grill & Bar was present to outline for the Council the steps that his business has taken to <br />prevent sale of alcohol to minors. He also stated that the first violation occurred ten days <br />following the purchase of the business and requested that Council consider their second <br />violation to be the first violation in consideration of the violation that occurred after the <br />purchase of the business. <br />Craig Thompson of Short Stop Liquor was present to outline the items that he is <br />doing to prevent sale of alcohol to minors. <br />Hearing no further public comment the public hearing was closed at 7:29 p.m. <br /> <br />Liquor License Violations <br />Moved by Councilmember Hicks, seconded by Councilmember Riveness, <br />Rivers Grill & Bar that the second violation be considered the business's first violation <br />and therefore they be required to pay the monetary fine or purchase the identification <br />reader machine. Should another violation occur within twenty-four months, it would be <br />considered River's third violation with corresponding penalties for a third violation. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, None. <br />Moved by Councilmember Hicks, that the guidelines approved by the Council be <br />imposed and a $750 penalty and two-day suspension for Short Stop Liquor's second <br />violation within a twenty-four month time frame. <br />Motion fails for a lack of a second. <br />Moved by Councilmember Yandrasits, seconded by Councilmember Moratzka, to <br />impose the same penalty on Short Stop Liquors as Rivers'. This violation is to be <br />considered their first violation, should another violation occur within twenty-four months <br />that would subsequently be considered a third violation and the corresponding penalties <br />shall be assessed. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, None. <br /> <br />2001 Council Committees <br />Mayor Werner presented recommendations for Council Committee appointments <br />for 2001. Mayor Werner requested approval of the Acting Mayor position to be <br />Councilmember Hicks with all other Council Committees to be set at the Council <br />meeting of January 16,2001. <br />Moved by Councilmember Riveness, seconded by Councilmember Schultz, to <br />approve Councilmember Hicks as Acting Mayor; with other Committees to be set at the <br />January 16,2001 Council meeting. <br />7 Ayes; Nays, None. <br />
