HAMLINE <br /> UNIVERSITY <br /> August 3,2000 <br /> Dear MCMA Member, <br /> We would like to extend to you a personal invitation to participate in the Minnesota City/County <br /> Managers Association Senior Executive Institute,which is scheduled to commence this fall. MCMA has <br /> contracted with Hamline University Graduate School of Public Administration and Management to <br /> provide an innovative training opportunity designed for experienced city and county managers in <br /> Minnesota. The Institute's first session is scheduled for October 12 in Duluth, with an.additional five <br /> sessions scheduled through May 2001. The Institute will culminate with an opportunity for participants <br /> to travel to London,England and Lithuania in June 2001 to meet and share experiences with our <br /> municipal counterparts in those countries. <br /> MCMA charged Hamline to design an experience that would give its members a chance to revisit the <br /> fundamental philosophies of our profession and create an environment that would be renewing and fun.. <br /> The attached brochure will give you an idea of the content selected by the MCMA committee. We have <br /> limited enrollment to 15,and the Institute will proceed with an enrollment of 10 at a cost of$2.300 per <br /> person. Payment can be made in two installments, one in 2000,and one in 2001. <br /> Participants should expect preparation and some readings for each session. Those desiring academic <br /> credit towards the Hamline Masters Degree in Public Administration can receive two semester credits <br /> with some additional evaluative work. Credit towards the Hamline Doctorate in Public Administration is <br /> also available. <br /> We hope you will consider joining us. this opportunity is first being offered to the MCMA Board, the <br /> Institute Steering Committee,and active,past presidents of MCMA.
