Hastings, Minnesota <br /> City Council Minutes <br /> February 3,2020 <br /> The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a regular meeting on Monday, February 3, <br /> 2020 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at the Hastings City Hall, 101 East 4"'Street, Hastings, Minnesota. <br /> Members Present: Mayor Fasbender, Councilmembers Balsanek, Braucks, Folch, Leifeld, Lund and Vaughan <br /> Staff Present: City Administrator Dan Wietecha <br /> Administrative Services Director Julie Flaten <br /> City Attorney Dan Fluegel <br /> Community Development Director John Hinzman <br /> Park&Recreation Director Chris Jenkins <br /> IT Manager Alan Nordquist <br /> Councilmember Balsanek recognized former Councilmember Tom Nesbitt Sr. with a moment of silence. <br /> Presentation: Dakota Broadband Board, Executive Director Carah Koch <br /> Carah Koch, Executive Director of Dakota Broadband Board, provided an overview and update of the <br /> Dakota Broadband Board activities. <br /> Council discussed 5G, comparison to similar counties and cities, underserved areas in the county and <br /> state, the lack of fiber laid and possible future fiber growth in Hastings and possible further discussion at a City <br /> Council Work Session or at a Utilities Committee of the Council meeting. The Council thanked the Dakota <br /> Broadband for all of their work. <br /> Approval of Minutes <br /> Mayor Fasbender asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes of the Regular City <br /> Council meeting on January 21, 2020. <br /> Minutes were approved as presented. <br /> Consent Agenda <br /> 1.
