<br />HASTINGS HERITAGE PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br /> <br />April 18, 2006 <br />Resolution ~ - 2006 <br /> <br />A Resolution Adopting Design Guidelines <br /> <br />WHEREAS MS 471.193 authorizes local governing bodies to establish a heritage <br />preservation commission to preserve and promote its historic resources, including the <br />enactment of rules governing construction, alteration, demolition and use; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS Sct. 2.18 of the Hastings City Code establishes the Heritage Preservation <br />Commission and its responsibilities, among them to protect Heritage Preservation Sites <br />by public review of all proposed alterations, relocations, demolitions or new construction; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS Sct. 2.18, Subd. 6.E.2. provides that the Commission will be guided by the <br />Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation, as well as by the Guidelines <br />adopted by the Commission for the review of proposed changes within Heritage <br />Preservation Sites and Heritage Preservation Districts; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED: that the Design Guidelines for Historic <br />Districts, Heritage Preservation Sites, and Conservation Districts prepared by Landscape <br />Research and adopted by the Heritage Preservation Commission on September 17, 2002 <br />are hereby adopted as the official guidelines for Commission review of proposed changes <br />within Heritage Preservation Sites and Heritage Preservation Districts as defined by the <br />Sct. 2.18, Subd. 2 and that Conservation Districts now fall under the Original Hastings <br />Design Standards, Section 10.13, Subd. 4 ofthe Hastings City Code. <br /> <br />ADOPTED by the Hastings Heritage Preservation Commission on this 18th day of April, <br />2006. <br /> <br />~ ~.-e <br /> <br />Bertrand Goderstad, Chair ofHPC <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~ <br />~ <br />1 ssm BRA Director, Staff <br />
