HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION <br />Meeting of December 14, 1992 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Hastings Planning Commission was called to order by <br />Commissioner Reinardy at 7:03 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioners Present: Bateman, Bolesworth, Featherstone and Reinardy <br /> <br />Commissioners Absent: Anderson and Mesaros <br /> <br />Staff Present: City Planner Czech <br /> <br />MINUTES <br /> <br />Commissioner Reinardy called for additions or corrections to <br />the regular meeting of October 26, 1992. There being no <br />additions or corrections the minutes were approved. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING- <br />SPECIAL USE - <br />USED CAR DEALER- <br />SHIP-3175 HWY 61 <br /> <br />Czech reviewed staffs December 7, 1992, memorandum to <br />the Planning Commission concerning a special use permit <br />request by Rick Steinke for approval of a used car dealership <br />at 3175 Highway 61. <br /> <br />Commissioner Reinardy opened the public hearing at 7:06 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />Rick Steinke, 1820 Louis Lane, was present at the meeting <br />and indicated that he would like to establish a used car <br />dealership that is a clean operation and believes that a used <br />car dealership is needed because prices are so high for new <br />cars. <br /> <br />The Planning Commission interacted with the applicant and <br />staff on several issues including, but not limited to, Rick <br />Steinke's experience with used car dealerships and whether <br />there would be any accessory uses. Mr. Steinke did indicate <br />that he may move Riverside Collision to the subject property <br />as an accessory use. <br /> <br />There being no further comments from the audience, <br />Commissioner Reinardy closed the public hearing at 7:16 p.m. <br /> <br />Commissioner Featherstone moved, Commissioner Bateman <br />made a second, to approve the special use permit for a used <br />car dealership at 3175 Highway 61 subject to the following <br />conditions: <br /> <br />The business shall be conducted in compliance with all <br />city code requirements including, but not limited to, the <br />following: <br /> <br /> <br />
