Hastings,Minnesota <br /> City Council Workshop <br /> May 18, 2020 <br /> The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a workshop on Monday, May.]8, <br /> 2020 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom virtual meeting <br /> Members Present: Mayor Fasbender, Councilmembers Balsanek, Braucks, Leifeld, Lund, <br /> Folch, Vaughan <br /> Staff Present: City Administrator Dan Wietecha <br /> Administrative Services Director Julie Flaten <br /> City Attorney Dan Fluegel <br /> Community Development Director John Hinzman <br /> Finance Manager Melanie Lammers <br /> Mayor Fasbender called the workshop to order at 5:33 p.m. <br /> City Administrator Wietecha provided an overview of the 2021 budget preparation schedule, <br /> current economic conditions, major revenues and expenses, and goals and priorities of the City <br /> Council, as previously defined. <br /> Council discussion on challenges with looking to 2021 with uncertainly in 2020, property tax <br /> collections, prioritizations of 2020 budgeted items, ways to keep economy moving and people <br /> employed, financial resiliency, contingency planning, strategies used during 2007-2011, and next <br /> steps. <br /> ADJOURNMENT <br /> Motion to adjourn by Councilmember Vaughn, seconded by Councilmember Braucks at <br /> 6:55 p.m. <br /> LL <br /> Mary D. tasbender, Mayor 4JulF*eaten, City Clerk <br />
