Hastings, Minnesota <br /> City Council Workshop <br /> April 5, 2021 <br /> The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a workshop on Monday, April 5, <br /> 2021 at 5:30 p.m. via Zoom virtual meeting. <br /> Members Present: Mayor Fasbender, Councilmembers Lund, Leifeld, Folch, Fox and <br /> Vaughan <br /> Members Absent: Councilmember Braucks <br /> Staff Present: City Administrator Dan Wietecha <br /> City Clerk Erica Henderson <br /> Finance Manager Chris Eitemiller <br /> Mayor Fasbender called the workshop to order at 5:33 p.m. <br /> Wietecha detailed the American Rescue Plan; the anticipated allocated amount to Hastings is <br /> $2.6M, deadline when funds need to be spent, possible items that the funds could be used for and <br /> parameters for spending. He also explained how this plan differed from the Cares Act. <br /> Council discussed possibly working with other cities to pool money for specific projects, <br /> replacing lost revenue from last year if allowed, housing gap research and assistance in the City, <br /> using funds for broadband infrastructure, potential to use funds to offset street assessments, <br /> having another meeting to discuss items the money may be used for, distribution of funds from <br /> the Federal and State levels and waiving on-sale liquor license renewal fees <br /> Motion to adjourn by Councilmember Vaughan, seconded by Councilmember Fox at 6:02 p.m. <br /> Mary D.
