M]IqUTES OF HASTINGS PLANNING CliP,fISSION MEETING <br />PDNDAY, APRIL 11, 1983 <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Chairman Murphy called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />M~mbers present: C~L~issioners ~qphy, Swanson, Stevens, Reuter, Martin, <br /> Simacek, Conzemius, Anderson, and Wendler. <br /> <br />Members absent: None. <br /> <br />Barbara Thot~son, Deputy City Clerk, gave Barbara Martin <br />the oath of office. <br /> <br />SWEARING INOF <br />BARBARA MARTIN <br /> <br />Moved by C~/~Rssioner Wendler, seconded by C~L,~issioner <br />Stevens to approve the minutes of the ~t~rch 28, 1983 <br />meeting. 9 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br />The Planner indicated that this would be an extension of <br />her existing home occupation to include both the publish- <br />ing business and antique sales. He indicated that all <br />zoning requirements would be met. <br /> <br />It was indicated that the Thorsens are also operating a <br />bed and breakfast service at thei~ home. The Planner <br />indicated that he had informed the Thorsens that he <br />felt no approval was needed for that type of operation. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT <br />PUBLISHING BUS LNESS <br />AND ;~NTIQUE SALES - <br />4TH A_ND PINE STRk~'£S- <br />PAM THORSEN <br /> <br />Moved by Conmissioner Stevens, seconded by Co~,~issioner <br />Anderson to reco~nd approval of the home occupation <br />request, since the zoning req~tirements were met, and <br />that adjacent property owners be notified of the reqest <br />prior to the Council meeting. 9 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br />S~ne C~m,:ssion members expressed concern that the re- <br />quest wasn't presented before the house was constructed. <br /> <br />Moved by C~,~ssioner Wendler, seconded by Simacek to <br />schedule a public hearing for the April 25, 1983 <br />Planning Conm~ssion meeting. 9 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br />The Planner presented the Conraission with information <br />collected in previous studies in the matter. He also <br />indicated that the Metropolitan Council has a present- <br />ation on housing issues that would be helpful to hear <br />prior to making any decisions.
