MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE JOINT PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE ON SPECIAL USE PERMITS FOR <br /> <br />TWO FAi~ILY & MULTIPLE FAMILY DWELLINGS IN THE R-2 DISTRICT <br /> <br />Monday, August 8, 1983 <br /> 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Chairman Simacek called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Council members Trautmann, Nesbitt, Werner, Plan, <br />and Karnick, Planning Commission members present - <br />Simacek, Murphy, Conzemius, Wendler, Reuter, and <br />Martin. <br /> <br /> Chairman Simacek indicated that some of the issues discussed at the <br />last meeting involved establishing a standard lot size, lot width, street <br />width, and that there had been discussion regarding neighborhood consent. <br />The Cormnittee discussed the various standards that had been brought up at <br />the last meeting. Councilman Karnick suggested that the R-2 be split up <br />into sub-zones to protect some of the old homes from being totally sur- <br />rounded by conversions. After much discussion, the following standards <br />were organized for further research by the City Staff: <br /> <br />30 foot traveled roadway <br />9,000 square foot lot size <br />10 foot side setback <br />15 foot side setback on a corner lot <br />35 foot rear setback <br />25 foot front setback <br />25 foot height restriction (new construction only) <br />1,600 square foot minimum house size for conversion <br /> <br /> The City Staff was asked to research the percentage of lots in the <br />R-2 District that would be able to meet these requirements, to check <br />whether the 1,600 square foot size requirement was appropriate with the <br />Building Inspector, and to report on the minimum unit size that could be <br />built under the Building Code. The next Committee meeting was scheduled <br />for 6:30 p.m. on August 22, 1983, at the City Council Chambers. <br /> <br />The meeting was adjourned at approximately 7:00 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />
