MINUTES OF HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 8, 1983 <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Murphy. <br /> <br />Members Present: Commissioners Murphy, Swanson, Reuter, Martin, <br /> Simacek, Conzemius, and Wendler. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Stevens and Anderson. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Con, missioner <br />Swanson to approve the Minutes of the July 25, 1983 Meeting, <br />with the following amendment: Add a new paragraph between the <br />second and third paragraphs on the Rezoning of River Estates <br />to read as follows: <br /> Several Commissioners felt that the proposal was a very <br /> nice looking development but they did not want to start <br /> a precedent of spot zoning. <br />7 Aye§, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> The Planner gave a brief summary of the proposed develop- <br />ment. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commissioner <br />Werdler to schedule a Public Hearing for the August 22, 1983 <br />Planning Commission Meeting. 7 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Simacek explained to the Commission that the <br />Committee was considering eliminating the Special Use Permits <br />in the R-2 District and allowing duplexes as permitted uses if <br />they met certain standards. Those standards are being investi- <br />gated by City Staff.
