MINUTES OF HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1983 <br />7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Chairman Murphy. <br /> <br />Members Present: Commissioners Murphy, Stevens, Reuter, Martin, <br /> Conzemius, Anderson, and Wendler. <br /> <br />Members Absent: Commissioners Swanson and Simacek. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Reuter commented that under the Planning <br />Commission's August 22, 1983 recommendation on standards for <br />two family dewllings in the R-2 District, number 5 should <br />read 1,600 square foot minimum house size, rather than 1,500 <br />square feet. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Stevens, seconded by Commissioner <br />Martin to approve the Minutes of the August 22, 1983 Planning <br />Commission Meeting, with the above correction. 7 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> Chairman Murphy opened the Public Hearing at 7:33 p.m. <br />The Planner noted that the Notice of Public Hearing, Certifi- <br />cate of Mailing, and Affidavit of Publication were on file. <br />Therefore the Public Hearing was properly called. After all <br />people present had an opportunity to be heard on the matter, <br />Chairman Murphy closed the Public Hearing at 7:34 p.m. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARING - <br />SPECIAL USE PERMIT - <br />USE CAR LOT - FORMER <br />WEBBER FORD PROPERTY <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Commissioner <br />Anderson to recommend approval of the special use permit, since <br />the site was designed for such a use. 7 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> The proposal met all zoning requirements. The Planner <br />indicated that a nearby neighbor had complained that the Latch's <br />own dog has caused an odor problem in the neighborhood, and <br />that he would look into that as a separate matter. Some <br />Planning Commission members questioned the amount of traffic <br />and impact on the neighborhood. <br /> <br />HOME OCCUPATION PERMIT- <br />DOG GROOMING - 141 <br />OLIVE STREET - SANDRA <br />LEE LATCH <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Wendler, seconded by Commissioner <br />Stevens to recormnend approval of the Home Occupation Permit, <br />since it appears to meet all zoning requirements. 4 Ayes, <br />Reuter, Martin, Anderson Naye. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Stevens, seconded by C~mmissioner Wendle~IOME OCCUPATION PERMIT- <br />to recommend approval of the Home Occupation Permit, since it SIGN PAINTING & VEHICL~ <br />appears to meet all zoning requirements, subject to inspection LETTERING - 709 W. 12tt <br />by the Fire Marshall to assure that all paint storage meets STREET - JAY FULLER <br />fire code requirements. 7 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> <br />
