MINUTES OF HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> <br /> MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, ]983 <br /> <br /> 7:30 <br /> <br /> The Meetings was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by <br />Chairman Murphy. <br /> <br />Members Present: Commissioners Murphy, Swanson, Stevens, <br /> Simacek, and Anderson. <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br /> <br />Commissioner Reuter, Martin, Conzemius, <br />and Wendler. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Anderson, seconded by <br />Coramlssioner Stevens to approve the Minutes of the <br />September 12, 1983 Planning Commission Meeting. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Swanson, seconded by <br />Commissioner Simacek to schedule a Public Hearing <br />for the October 11, 1983 Planning Commission Meeting. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br /> The Planning Commission listened to a number of <br />realtors, a contractor, and a property owner, who all <br />argued for less restrictive requirements for two family <br />dwellings in the R-2 District. <br /> <br /> Moved by Cormaissioner Simacek, seconded by Cormmis- <br />sioner Stevens, to recommend that the City Council <br />approve the earlier set of recommendations made by the <br />Planning Commission and the Joint Planning Commission <br />City Council Committee, which has studied the matter. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Murphy, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Stevens to amend the motion to revise the re- <br />commendations by adding a new provision that where <br />existing structures would be razed and new two family <br />dwellings built, that the conversion standards apply <br />to the new structure, rather than the new construction <br />standards in the current proposal. 4 Ayes, Swanson Naye. <br /> <br /> The vote was then taken on the original motion. <br />3 Ayes, Swanson and Murphy Naye. Motion passed. <br /> <br /> Moved by Commissioner Simacek, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Anderson to adjourn at 8:28 p.m. 5 Ayes, 0 Nayes. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> <br />PROPOSED ORDINANCE <br />AMENDMENT - LOT SIZES <br />IN THE AGRICULTURAL <br />DISTRICT <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL REVIEW OF <br />PROPOSED STANDARDS FOR <br />TWO FAMILY DWELLINGS IN <br />THE R-2 DISTRICT <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br /> <br />
