CITY OF HASTINGS <br /> Office of ENGINEE~ <br /> <br />MINUTES OF HASTINGS PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br />HELD MONDAY, AUGUST 24, 1970 <br /> <br />The meeting convened at 7:30 P.M. at City Hall. <br /> <br />Those present: Mr. Walt Petersen, Mr. Clarence Soleim, Mr. Orvin <br /> Moen, Mr. Don Hallberg, Mr. Ed Fischer. <br /> <br />Also present: Mr. John Davidson, City Engineer. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mr. Fischer, seconded by Mr. Hallberg to approve the <br />second optional layout from Mr. Ben Sontag with pedestrian walks north from <br />the cul-de-sac at the northeast corner of the proposed plat, through between <br />lots 13, 14, 17 and 18, Block g at the northwest corner of the proposed plat, <br />and that the plat be approved with curvilinear streets in the southwest quadrant, <br />and the short, but wider park area as shown on layout indicating 116 lots. <br /> <br />It was moved by Mr. Fischer, seconded by Mr. Soleim that the minutes of <br />August 10th be approved as read, and distributed to the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />Mr. Hallberg suggested presenting the Zoning Ordinance to the City Council on <br />September 8, 1970 and suggested the City Engineer contact Mr. Sam Hertogs <br />in regard to a hearing changing the Zoning Ordinance. <br /> <br />Section 12.3 <br /> <br />The variance for "Special Use Permit - Class <br /> <br />Change the heading to read: "Variance (Class 1 Permit) <br />conditions governing application procedures" <br /> <br />Section 3.7.4.4 The heading should read: "Application for Class 2 Permit" <br /> <br />Under the review of the Zoning Ordinance, it was suggested the City Engineer <br />prepare sketches for setbacks in accordance with the West St. Paulordinance. <br />The ordinances was furnished the City Engineer by Mr. Walt Petersen. <br /> <br />Mr. Petersen indicated that the meeting with the Recreation Beard was set up <br />for next Monday, August 31, 1970. <br /> <br />Mr. Soleim notified the Planning Commission that the State Hospital was offering <br />for sale that Iand south of the Industrial Park in Marshan Township, adjacent to <br />and south of the last 120 acres optioned by the City from the Department of <br />Administration. There was a notice of a hearing on the sale of this property set <br /> <br /> <br />
