Quorum: Boler, Sovik-Siemens, Smith, Goderstad, Craft, Langenfeld present; Smith designated chair pro tem and called the meeting to order. II. Approval of minutes of September 18, 2001; motion by Goderstad and second by Langenfeld; motion carded. IlL Review of building permits or design proposals A. 121 E. Second Street. Steve Johnson. Permit review for replacement of 19 windows. Existing windows not original. Requested approval for full-frame double-hung window with fi'osted glass in top sash to hide dropped ceilings. Motion by Goderstad, second by Craft to approve design provided showing two sashes, muntins and curved top rail; motion carried, 6-0. B. 513 Vermillion. Marty & Coleen Truax. Design review for remodeling. Motion by Goderstad, second by Smith to approve replacement of windows with similar double-hung windows, of two doors with one front door with panels and nine panes; roof replacement with flat skylights; removal of door and porch on north side and build retaining wall; motion carried, 6-0. Review of residing with Hardiplank and replacement of porch members deferred to next meeting for a committee visit. C. 312 Fourth St. E. Tom and JoAnne Bates. Design review for completion of remodeling. Motion by Goderstad, second by Boler to approve gutters, removal of side door and replacement with stone or window and stone; replacement of rear window; replacement of fi'ont door with sidelights and panes; remove existing non-original front porch, deck on back, metal stovepipe/chimney; motion carded, 6-0. IV. New business Dakota County Historical Society. DCHS requested help to publish their next magazine focusing on the LeDuc House. Motion by Goderstad, second by Craft to provide $250; motion carried, 6-0.. V. Annual Preservation Conference. Langenfeld and Boler attended the conference in Glenwood and reported on the sessions and tours. VI. Adjourment. Motion by Goderstad, second by Craft; motion carried.
