Roll: Commissioners Anderson, Coutu, Schnirring, Thorsen present; Fuchs, Smith absent. Staff: Grossman; Guests: Chantelle Strop 2. Minutes of February 27, 1995. Ms. Anderson moved and Mr. Thorsen seconded approval. Motion carried. 3. Bills: Mr. Schnirring moved and Ms. Anderson seconded approval; motion carded. 1OS - $296.70 - quarterly maintenance for copy machine Photo Fair - $341.50 - prepaid photo printing for customer John Grossman - $14.40 - milage to SHPO grants meeting Minnesota Historical Society - $20.00 - membership 4. Review of building permits or design proposals. New door ~roposal. 119 E Second. After consideration, the design of commercial door for Chantelle Strop's remodeling of the Adsit building was not approved as it did not have the character of a commercial door compatible with the rest of the facade as reconstructed. Staff was asked to help Ms. Strop find a compatible door, if possible in steel as she prefers. It was also suggested that she look for original doors at architectural recycling firms. 5. Unfinished business a. St. Boniface, The Pastoral Council will respond the the HPC's letter after their meeting of April 20th. b. Commission membership> vacancy. One application, from Mark Simacek, is on file. At least one more should be received before interviews are scheduled. Michelle Tropple was suggested. 6. New business a. Prints from ci_ty neeatives. Mr. Thorsen moved and Mr. Schnirring seconded direction to staff to add 5% of cost to orders for prints from city photographs to fund photograph conservation and expenses. Motion carried. b. Nomination to national register: 1st Presbyterian Church, Mr. Schnirring moved and Ms. Anderson seconded direction to staff to advertise a hearing in March 13 Star Gazette for the meeting of May 8th in order to nominate the site to the City Council for local designation and for comment on the nomination to the National Register; motion carried. c. Annual tralnlng. Anrll 28th in St, Cloud, In order to maintain the City's certified status at least one commissioner must attend the annual training. Ms. Anderson can attend this year. Three registrations will be made. If other commissoners can attend they are to notify staff. d. State nreservation pl~u, Any commissioner comments received by staff will be forwarded by letter to the Preservation Office. e. Barker House. Mr. Thorsen inquired as to the status of the house. The HPC had a structural engineer report on the property last year at this time. It was found to be sound, but the property line and utility issues have not been resolved by the city. 7. Adjournment: Mr. Schnirdng moved and Ms. Anderson seconded; motion carried.
