Roll: Commissioners Coutu, Schnirring, Simacek, Thorsen, Sovik-Siemens and Smith present; Warg absent. Meeting called to order at 7 p.m. by Chairman Thorsen. 2. Minutes of the meeting of Febrnary 17, 1997: Mr. Schnirring moved and Mr. Simacek seconded approval as printed; motion carried. 3. Bills: Ms. Coutu moved and Mr. Smith seconded approval; motion carded. BT Office - $42.62 - labels for 3-ring binders, Pioneer Room Minnesota Historical Society - $20.00 - annual membership 4. Review of building permits or design proposals. No applications 5. Staff & Committee Reports. The serf-guided walking and driving tour. The publication is out of print. Mr. Schnirring moved and Ms. Coutu seconded the appropriation of $1,000 for reprinting a revised tour brochure contingent on other donors contributing the balance of the costs. The new historic district and some additional properties are to be added. Motion carried. 6. Unfinished business. A. Draft conservation area language. The dra.q revision was completed by the commission. The draf~ will next be reviewed by City stafl~ SHPO and a Council Committee prior to a Commission recommendation to Council. B. Comp plan language. Discussed and to be considered again at a later meeting. 7. New business. A. The dral~ application for design review was reviewed and approved. B. Statfwas asked to advertise for applicants for vacant commission positions. C. Heritage Preservation intern for May - July. Mr. Smith moved and Ms. Sovik Siemens seconded offering a preservation planning internship to William Stark under the following understanding. Cornell would pay the stipend, to which the HPC will contribute $1,250 out of its consulting budget. Mr. Stark would work on Comp Plan and Design Review. Motion carried. 8. Adjournment. Ms. Coutu moved and Mr. Smith seconded adjournment at 9:30; motion carded.
