Mayor Paul Hicks and Hastings Gity Council Members
Hastings City Hall
101 Bast 4cn St.
Hastings, MN 55033
Dear Mayor Hicks and Council Members:
As in previous years., the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau will be submitting a
Rivertown Days agreement to the City Councii for the July 6th meeting.. We ask that you declare
Rivertown Days, July 16 - 19, as a special event for the City of Hastings. This will allow far special vendor
permits to be issued.
The Rivertown Days Committee would like to have a beer garden as part of the event using similar
guidelines for the defined area as were used in 2008. This allowed more flexibility for festival attendees to
carry their beer between the food vendors, music stage and other events. The area will be single fenced
and will not be restricted to individuals over the age of 21. Wrist bands will be required to purchase
alcohol. No changes are necessary to the ordinance.
No outside coolers will be allowed in the defined area after 6:00 p.m. The suggested hours for beer sales
wilt be from 5:00 - 10:30 p.m. Friday; 3:00 -10:30 p.m. Saturday and very limited sales on Sunday. This
will. be worked out with the beer vendor, who we anticipate will be the Jaycees in cooperation with the
Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce and the Hastings Police Department.
The parade and any other events will be cleared through the Police, i=ire and Streets Departments,
Rivertown Days will be utilizing city parks for some ofi the events, and we appreciate all of your assistance
in making Rivertown Days a great event for our community.
If you have any questions or concerns about any of these events, please feel free to contact me at 651-
437-6775. Any other new events are taking place on private property and should not affect the City.
Sincerely,
i~~ ~~

Hastings Area Chamber- of Commerce & Tourism Bureau
