The project engineer was retained and the project scope manual and bid documents have been developed. The three options for the plaster repair portion of the project are: A. Demolition and construction prior to June 1, 2009 B. Demolition and construction in the fall of 2009 C. Demolition in fall of 2009 and construction completion Spring of 2010 I am seeking approval from the Hastings City Council to begin the bidding process for this project by advertising this project. At the conclusion of the bidding process, the City Council will determine the next course of action. This may be to select one of the three options or not to proceed with this project at the present time. Regardless of the course of action by the City Council on the plaster project, as directed by City Council, an investment may still be needed to the Hastings Family Aquatic Center pool drains if they are not in compliance with both federal Virginia Graeme Baker Pool and Spa Safety Act and the Minnesota Abigail Taylor Pool Safety Act. As part of our agreement with our project engineer, Aquatic Design Solutions will work with the City of Hastings to ensure the HFAC is in complete compliance. Thank you!
