Chapter 155.08 – Industrial Park Signage
REQUEST
The City Council is asked to hold a public hearing to consider an amendment to Hastings
City Code Chapter 155.08, Subd. D (1) (e) relating to monument signage in the Industrial
Park. As a result of this change, monument signs in the Industrial Park would follow the
same guidelines as in the C-4 District.
The City Council ordered the public hearing at its April 20, 2009, meeting.
BACKGROUND
The City of Hastings is considering replacing or temporarily removing the Hastings’
Industrial Park monument signage on Spiral Boulevard. The existing ordinance would
not allow a similar sized sign to be rebuilt or for the current sign to be replaced after
removal.
RECOMMENDATION
At the April 13, 2009, Planning Commission meeting, the Planning Commission met on
the aforementioned item. The Planning Commission voted 5-0 to recommend approval
of the request subject to the conditions on the attached resolution. No one spoke for or
against the item at the meeting.
