Subject: Park Hour Variance
Hastings Youth First is planning a Local Jam at Veteran’s Park for June 19 from 7:00-
nd
11:30 PM. Youth First has coordinated two local jams previously at 2 Street Coffee Shop
and at a local church. The local jam is an event in which up to three local bands are
provided a platform to play for friends and family. Ann Grotjohn, Youth First Coordinator,
seeks local artists to perform. The previous local jams had approximately 100-150 people
in attendance at each performance.
The thought behind utilizing Veteran’s Park is that since it is the beginning of summer,
Veteran’s Park could provide a perfect setting for the third and last local jam of the season.
It is anticipated that music would stop at 11:15 PM and then allow the young visitors an
opportunity to exit the park and get home prior to any curfew violations.
It is requested of the Hastings City Council to allow the park hour variance for this event.
Thank you!
