Re:
East Hastings Lift Station Replacement
The Council is requested to authorize staff to advertise for bids for the replacement of the East Hastings
Sanitary Sewer Lift Station. The existing lift station was originally constructed in 1979 and is showing
signs of deficiency due to aging, does not have an emergency backup generator on-site, and is the last
remaining lift station in the City that requires confined space entry to perform operation and maintenance
activity. The replacement project would upgrade conditions to be consistent with all other lift stations in
the City for equipment and operation configurations. Staff has been working with design consultant
Bolton & Menk to finalize plans and specifications for this project, which would have a construction
timeline of mid-August to the end of October of this year. The construction budget for this project is
$200,000 and would be funded by the Sewer Enterprise Fund.
COUNCIL ACTION RECOMMENDED
Authorize staff to proceed with soliciting bids for the replacement of the East Hastings Lift Station.
