Council Action Requested:
Approvethefirst reading and order a public hearing for December 21, 2009 to consider updates
to the fee ordinances relating to charges for winter fees charged for parks & recreation facility
and equipment rental and water shut off.
Background Information:
In separate memos from Public Works Director Tom Montgomery and Parks & Recreation
Director Bernstein, supporting information for implementation of fees for winter water shut-off
and winter equipment and facility rental have been proposed. City fees are incorporated into
ordinance, and if the recommendations by Montgomery and Bernstein are accepted, staff would
recommend approving the first reading and order a public hearing for December 21, 2009 to
implement these changes as proposed.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS, MINNESOTA
AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE HASTINGS CITY CODE PERTAINING TO FEES FOR
LICENSES, PERMITS, RENTALS, LEASES AND MUNICIPAL SERVICES
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HASTINGS AS FOLLOWS:
Chapter 34 of the Hastings City Code is hereby amended as follows:
Section 34.03 Fee Schedule.
The fees for license, permits, municipal services, rentals and leases are amended as set forth
below:
Parks and Recreation
Park Rental-Winter (minimum 2 hour rental)
Shelters with Enclosed Restroom
Resident $30.00 + tax
Non-resident $40.00 + tax
Shelters with Port-o-Lets
Resident $25.00 + tax
Non-resident $35.00 + tax
Shelter Deposit $100.00 (refundable)
Winter Equipment Rental
Deposit $100
Hockey Set $25.00 + tax
Broomball Set $25.00 + tax
$75.00 + tax
Birthday Party Package
Small Birthday Cake $15. 00 + tax
Large Birthday Cake $25. 00 + tax
Public Works
$50.00 During regular work hours ( (7 am-3 pm)
Water Shut Off
$120.00 Outside after regular work hours)
Winter Emergency Water Shut Off
$100.00 During regular work hours (7 am – 3 pm)
(Dec 1-Apr 15)
$240.00 Outside regular work hours
All other sections shall remain unchanged
