HomeMy WebLinkAbout20091221 - VI-15 MEMO TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council members FROM: Charlene Stark, Finance Director RE: Budget Transfer DATE: December 9, 2009 The IT department has money budgeted for half of the Virtualization project in 2009 and the other half in 2010. Due to some computer breakdowns a couple of months ago in which city hall was down for sometime with email, Internet and some departments without access to the city hall server it was determined to begin the process of procuring for the virtualization project with the funds in the 2009 budget. IT has worked out a solution in which she can purchase a part of the project now and then the rest in 2010. The dollars needed for the 2009 equipment is $42,000. IT currently has $36,000 in the 2009 budget for this project. IT has $4,000 under conferences and $3,000 under repairs of equipment that could be transferred into the capital line item for this project. In 2010 the amount needed would be less due to the fact this money would be spent now and thus the project costs in total would remain the same. Council Action Requested Approve a budget adjustment to conferences ($4,000) and repairs to equipment ($3,000) and transfer to computer capital.
