Re: Request for Adjustment to TRAC fares and Pick-Up Window Timeframe
Council Action Requested:
Approve the attached resolution, approving an adjustment to TRAC fares, effective January 1,
2010 to $2.25 per ride and changing the operating policy regarding customer pick-up window.
Background Information
The Met Council is in the process of restructuring the regional dial-a-ride system. As part of this
restructure, Dakota County’s program will be implemented May 1, 2010. The City has entered
into a contract extension to continue to provide TRAC service through May 31, 2010. As part of
this extension, the Met Council has mandated a minimum fare of $2.25 per ride and an
operational policy change addressing customer pick-up window definition.

Resolution Adopting the 2010
Fare and Operational Policy Adjustment
for the Hastings TRAC Program
WHEREAS,
the City of Hastings has operated an intra-city transit service called
TRAC
TRAC (ansportation round the ity) since 1978; and
WHEREAS,
TRAC provides over 34,000 rides annually throughout the City of
Hastings to passengers with transportation needs; and
WHEREAS,
the Metropolitan Council has restructured the regional dial-a-ride
system and will implement it’s own system on or about May 1, 2010; and
WHEREAS,
as part of this restructure, the City has agreed to continue to operate
the City’s TRAC program through on or about May 31, 2010; and
WHEREAS,
this contract extension requires a minimum fare of $2.25 per ride
and an operational policy defining the customer pick-up window.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED,
by the City Council of the City of
Hastings that the fare for a one-way TRAC ride will be $2.25 and the customer service
pick-up window policy are adopted as required by the Metropolitan Council.
