The Wallin Park meeting was lightly attended due to severe weather rolling into Hastings, but the people that did attend were very appreciative and supportive of their neighborhood park. City representation at this meeting included Council Member Schultz, PRC Member Rohloff, Parks Maintenance Supervisor Likes and me. I have also included emails from the neighborhood residents who could not be in attendance. From the conversation with residents and supporting emails, it seems this neighborhood likes the current character of the neighborhood park and does not wish for major changes that would impede on the neighborhood park feel, character, and opportunity for formal/informal play. The neighborhood park meeting at Lions Park was very well attended by residents and Council Members Slavik, Balsanek, and Nelson. In addition, PRC Chair Schommer, PRC Member Rohloff, Parks Maintenance Supervisor Likes and myself were in attendance. The local neighborhood shared similar concerns as the Wallin Park neighborhood for the character and opportunity for informal play. There are some emails included that were received from Lions Park neighborhood residents as well. I am seeking direction from the Parks and Recreation Commission on the following:  Do we proceed with any modifications to the existing ball fields?  If no, what possibly could be the next move to satisfy the local youth baseball organizations?  If yes, what modifications are permissible and how do we communicate any modifications to the local neighborhoods? Thank you!
