The City COlUlcil of the City of Has tings, Minnesota met in a
regular meeting on MOnday, July 21, 1975 at 8:00 O'clock P.M. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall.
~~mbers present: Councilmen Erickson, Novak, Latch, Schnirring,
Elliott, Hallberg, Fischer and Mayor Petersen.
Members absent: Councilman Kramer.
The Nlinutes of the meeting of July 7, 1975 were approved as read.
The Council conducted a general discussion concerning
NIDilicipal Shoreline Regulations. The Council ordered the report
placed on file.
Moved by Councilman Hallberg, seconded by Councilman
Schnirring to refer to the Planning Commission and the Natural
Resources Commission the consideration of the purchase of the
Vermillion River Park property for referendum. Be it further
moved that coordination be done with Mr. Smith of Amenity One,
to consider what strategy, on park property concerned with the
Flood Control Project, should be and that a report from the
Planning Commission and Natural Resources Commission concerning
the referendum possibilities be submitted to the Council by
September 8, 1975. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.

Erickson to approve the following list of Home Occupation
Permits for renewal for the year July 1, 1975 to July 1, 1976.

Hallberg to approve the First Reading of the Amendment to the
Liquor License Ordinance for the approval of the sale of wine at

Moved by Councilman Novak, seconded by Councilman Fischer
to approve the Firefighters Contract Union settlement for a three
year period, from January 1, 1975 through December 31, 1977, as
proposed in the Contract before the Council for consideration this
date. The Administrator was instructed to inform the Union of the
Council's acceptance of the proposal and request that this be the
final agreement between the City of Hastings and the Firefighters
as proposed in the doclllIlent. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.

to approve the appointment of Dr. Hugh MacMenamin as the City

to approve the Third and Final. Reading for the Amendment to the
Ordinance #21 Renaming Certain Streets in the City of Hastings.

to authorize the City Administrator to advertise for an Assistant
Engineer for the City Staff. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.
PARTIAL PAYMENf Councilman Novak moved, Councilman Schnirring seconded to
PINE BEND PAVING approve the partial payment to Pine Bend Paving Company for 1975
Construction in the amount of $58,379.62. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.
APPROVE REPAIRS Councilman Schnirring moved, Councilman Novak seconded to
TO CITY HALL approve the repairs to the City Hall concerning the deterioration
of bricks on the west side of the building and to further authorize
the Administrator to get quotes for the painting of the City Hall
as well. Ayes, 7; Nayes, none.
