The City Council of the City of Hastings, Minnesota met in a
special meeting on Thursday, September 12, 1974 at 7:00 P.M. in the
Council Chambers of the City Hall, which was called by Mayor Walter
Petersen for the purpose of canvassing the election returns of the
Primary Election held on Tuesday, September 10, 1974.

Members present: Councilmen Schnirring, Kramer, O'Connor
Fischer Novak and Mayor Petersen.
Members absent:
Councilmen Collins, Hallberg and Driscoll.
Councilman Kramer introduced the following resolution and moved
its adoption:
RESOLUTION ON PRIMARY ELECTION -* ~ ()
The results of the canvass of votes in the in the Second Ward
of said City for the Primary Election held therein on Tuesday, the 10th
day of September, 1974 be and the same are declared to be as follows:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council finds from said
canvass that the following listed candidates in the Second Ward have
received a plurality of votes in said Ward, also f~nds and declares
the following shall be the candidates for such office at the General
Election November 5, 1974.

Councilman Novak seconded the motion to adopt said resolution
and the same was passed by the following vote: Ayes, 5; Nayes, none.

Moved by Councilman Fischer, seconded by Councilman Schnirring
that the meeting be adjourned. Ayes, 5; Nayes, none.
Pursuant to Chapter 2, Section 3, of the City Charter, the City
Clerk notified the two candi~ates for the office of Councilman, Second
Ward who had received the largest number of votes in the Primary Election,
that their respective names would appear on the General Election Ballot
on November 5, 1974 unless they refused to run.
