Quorum: Commissioners Warg, Boler, Simacek and Hellie, present – a quorum of seven current members. Staff: Grossman. II. Minutes of January 18, 2005. Motion by Boler, second by Hellie to approve with change to Section IV. that a disclaimer be added to the comments; motion carried. III. New business. Appointment. Bonnie St. James, applicant for appointment to the HPC, met with the commissioners. Motion by Boler, second by Simacek to recommend Ms. St. James to City Council for appointment; motion carried. IV. Review of building permits or design proposals A. LeDuc parking, drives and paths to be constructed by City. Commission suggested that the lights over the parking lot be reconsidered. They would prefer something with more design, though still simple and contemporary. Motion by Boler, second by Warg to approve the plans; motion carried. B. Sherman condominium building on Block 1. Working drawings for comment. Commissioners suggested that the large windows be divided into more smaller panes. Sketch to be provided and questions asked (by staff) about the railings, the panels under the windows, the color of the brick and the retaining walls. V. Information & reports A. LeDuc Update: progress report on interpretation and restoration made by Mr. Warg and staff. B. 817 Ramsey. The owner, Frank Judge, asked if the HPC would consider his house for designation. Those commissioners that looked at the property thought it did not have enough original design integrity. Staff noted it has not been identified for historic associations in any of the surveys. VI. Adjournment . In honor of Goderstad, Boler moved and Simacek seconded adjournment; motion carried.
