Quorum: Commissioners Boler, Craft, Goderstad, Hellie, LaBreck, Martin, Sovik- Siemens, Simacek and Warg present. II. Minutes of August 19, 2003: Motion by Goderstad, second by Boler to approve; motion carried. III. Review of building permits or design proposals 1629 Vermillion - LeDuc House. Minnesota Historical Society . Construction plans for remodeling by McDonald and Mack presented Rita Goodrich, project architect. Changes made to the house in 1915 will be retained. The stabilization and remodeling for code compliance and use for the City will not change the interior with the exception of the summer kitchen, to become public restrooms, kitchen and staff area. Motion by Boler, second by LaBreck to approve the work described in the plans. Motion carried, 9-0. IV. Business City Website. Amy Martin volunteered to provide preservation information for the website. Staff will provide a contact in the City IT department for coordination. Emergency procedure for City Code . David Warg asked staff to research ways to protect threatened eligible buildings during the designation process. V. Information New nominations project: Boler and Martin are researching three properties. LeDuc interpretation development has started thanks to a federal Byways Grant to the City. Bob Frame has been hired to do the work for DCHS. Riverside trail interpretive panel project. Construction contract approved. Installation this fall and next spring. Funded through grant from National Park Service (MNRRA). Budget for 2004. Council approved the requested amount for HPC and Pioneer Room. Design guidelines adopted as part of the Original Hastings master plan will apply to the conservation area identified by the HPC after Council approves the boundaries. V. Adjournment .
