Regular Meeting
7:00 p.m.
Vice-Chairman Harrington called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
1. Roll Call
Commissioners Present: Harrington, Hollenbeck, Greil, Stotko, Strauss.
Commissioners Absent: Anderson
Staff Present: City Planner Matthew Weiland
2. Approve December 11th, 2000 Planning Commission Meeting Minutes.
3. Public Hearing - Rezone Bohlken Estates 6th Addition (A- Agriculture to R-2 Medium
Density Residence)
4. Public Hearing - Bohlken Estates 6th addition Preliminary Plat
Planner Weiland presented background information on both of these items together.
Vice-Chairman Harrington opened the Public Hearing at 7:10 pm for the rezoning. Hearing no
comment, Vice-Chairman Harrington closed the Public Hearing at 7:11 pm.
Planning Commission Action:
Commissioner Strauss moved and Commissioner Hollenbeck seconded a motion to recommend
to the City Council to approve the rezoning of the property to R-2 Medium Density Residence.
Upon vote taken, Ayes, 5, Nays, 0. Motion carried.
Vice-Chairman opened the Public Hearing at 7:12 pm for the preliminary plat. Hearing no comment,
Vice-Chairman Harrington closed the Public Hearing at 7:13 pm.
Planning Commission Action:
Commissioner Strauss moved and Commissioner Greil seconded a motion to recommend to the
City Council the approval of the Bohlken Estates 6th Addition Preliminary Plat, subject to the
following conditions:
That preliminary plat approval is contingent upon the property being rezoned
to R-2 Medium Density residential.
o
That the applicant shall pay a $305/1ot Interceptor Sewer Fee, which would total
$2440.00 for 8 units, prior to the City=s release of the final plat hardshells.
o
That the developer shall work with the City to establish a trail connection at the
western end of this property to the Vermillion River trail.
o
That the developer shall plant 3.boulevard@ trees according to the submitted tree
plan and one front yard tree per lot. These trees shall be at least two inches in
diameter at the base and the species of the tree should be on the list of approved
trees created by the City Forester. An escrow is required for any unplanted trees
before a certificate of occupancy is issued for any units without trees is allowed.
Upon vote taken, Ayes, 5, Nays, 0. Motion carried.
6. Updates and Other Business
Planner Weiland introduced Lance Twedt to the Planning Commission and announced elections
would be held at the next Planning Commission meeting.
7. Adjournment
There being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 pm.
